Welcome to the Valley Quilters Guild! Whether you're a new or experienced quilter, we invite you to connect with fellow enthusiasts and contribute to our vibrant community.


Join us for our monthly Membership Meetings for inspiration and learning.  Also, don't miss our Open Sew gatherings for a full day of uninterrupted quilting fun! Membership is open to anyone 13 and older, and we warmly welcome beginning quilters. Come stitch with us!​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Renew your membership for 2026 by January 31. Membership allows you to attend the retreat and quilt camp, receive discounts on classes, and get the monthly newsletter.

January 8 Thursday: Membership Meeting 6-7:00pm social time, 7:00pm meeting

January 10 Saturday, Open Sew at Palmer Depot, 10am-11:30pm

Valley Quilters Guild Elections

Three open positions for 2027—President, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian—will be elected at the October membership meeting. If you are interested in learning more, please contact the Nominating Committee Chair, Paddy Coan, at 907-355-4209.

VQG 2026 UFO Auction – Call for Donations!

In preparation for the March 2026 Guild UFO Auction—featuring a live auctioneer plus a silent auction and buy-it-now table—we are now accepting donations!

We welcome:

  • New or started-but-not-finished quilting projects and kits

  • Orphan blocks

  • Fabric bundles

  • Patterns, books, and quilting notions

Now’s the perfect time to clean out those closets, cupboards, drawers, and shelves!

Please contact Susan Franznick to arrange delivery or pick-up of your donation.
Deadline: February 20 (but the sooner, the better!).

Something new in 2026!

Two NEW things for 2026:

#1 – $50 Education Gift Certificate from Luna’s
Complete a Block of the Month (BOM) for every month of 2026 to be eligible for a drawing.

Tip: If you know you’ll be gone during any month(s), make your block(s) ahead of time and leave it/them with a friend or at Education the month before.

#2 – $50 Education Gift Certificate from Sylvia’s
Awarded to the member who completes the most UFO Bucket List items during 2026, as determined at the December 2026 guild meeting. If there’s a tie, a drawing will be held.
Get your UFO Bucket List updated—or start a new one—with everything you want to complete in the coming year!

Registration for the VQG February Retreat

The Valley Quilters Guild Retreat will be held February 26–March 2, 2026, at the Palmer Train Depot. The cost is $50 for members only. The Depot accommodates approximately 36 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, with each person receiving about 8 feet of workspace—perfect for laying out projects. A special event on January 17, 2026—My Buddy and Me! This kids’ quilt camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the United Protestant Presbyterian Church, the log cabin church in Palmer.  More information.
